Kalasa Hanging bridge - awesome tourist destinations

In this post we share our visit experience to Hanging bridge at Kalasa which is near to Horanaadu about 5 hours journey from Bengaluru city

Kalasa is a beautiful town in Malenaadu which is on the way to Kudremukh towards the west and on the way to Horanadu to the north with many scenic destinations. It finds its popularity with Kalaseshwara Shiva temple. 

Our team came to know about a not much explored hanging bridge which is near to the temple . Even many localities still haven't been here. We took a small car and headed to this spot . To our surprise we did a right thing not taking a jeep , as the roads were very narrow - just fitting our small car leading to the river bed. Luckily other end was traffic free else would have been a long traffic jam !

Road perfectly leads us to the bridge . It was a wow moment for us , a beautiful bridge in the midst of scenic nature. We climbed the bridge , went through a long path enjoying the nature and returned back. 

A must visit spot in Kalasa , only take care to drive a small car as the roads are really narrow

Agumbe recreation park , Agumbe - Karnataka tourist destinations

One passing through Agumbe in Shimoga district will not resist to stop at this spot which is right in front of Agumbe forest checkpost .

Just opposite to the someshwara forest checkpost , this park has a beautiful lake surrounded by lush green Agumbe nature. Light snacks are served here in the evening time. There is a entrance fee of Rs.5 , parked maintained by forest department.

Kadri Manjunatha Temple , Mangalore - Tourist destinations

In this post , we share our team visit experience to Kadri Manjunatha temple at Mangalore , Dakshina Kannada district.

Temple highlights

• Shiva linga in the form of Manjunatha is worshipped here
• Shiva linga believed to be existing since 10th century
• Its believed Parashurama did penance at this spot , pleased by his bhakthi Lord shiva reincarnated as Manjunatha at this spot.

Temple Entrance gopuram

This temple is in the midst of a residential area . Our team visited here after taking darshan of Katil durga parameshwari night stay about 30 minutes journey to this spot. 

There is good parking facility in front of temple , on entering inside the gopuram temple complex we noticed a unique ganesha temple of 3 to 4 feet high engraved with gold color plates. 

Temple Sideview

Inside is a spacious big sanctum of wooden structure , we took a circular round and entered on the other side . In the small sanctum inside , we took darshan of Shiva linga in the form of Kadri Manjunatha.

There are few ponds at a height of this temple which is quite unique of its kind. Devotees usually take a dip or shower this holy over their heads before entering the temple . Rituals are conducted here.
